About the event

Make your own Smudge Fan~

The Sacred Smoke created from burning medicinal plants is a custom of many cultures and religions all over the world. In North America, Turtle Island, it is a practice common to Indigenous Peoples and is called Smudging. Many, but not all, Indigenous cultures in Canada smudge but may have different beliefs associated with the smoke, and different ceremonies and protocols.

We believe that it is important that everyone smudges, so you can best take care of You, your Home and Sacred Space. Whether you are in ceremony, use it as a self-care tool and/or as a daily practice of mindfulness - the smoke of Sage has been scientifically proven to clean the air of toxins on a micro bacterial level. Therefore you clean your aura, and the environment in which you live.

In this workshop you will get to learn about the importance of cleansing, healing, energy, and our interconnection to all things; and how Jenny believes our disconnect to the Natural World is the leading cause of mental health issues and how practices such as Smudging are of vital importance.

You will also get to learn about Bird Teachings. Jenny believes the Winged Ones take prayers to Creator/God and share Messages from the Spirit Realm. She will share stories about her own personal connection with Bird Medicine, and will assist you with how to begin developing your own.

Jenny has an extensive collection of feathers - All which have been ethically hunted or gathered, or have been gifted - for you to choose from.

If you have feathers already, great - let’s honour them and officially make them into a fan!

Fan will be wrapped with traditional hide and will also carry a crystal.

The evening will be intimate, and allow for much discussion. Tea and bannock will be served.

Max participants is 10.

Cost is $75.
